Frequently Asked QuestionsSolar Sound
How do I connect via Bluetooth?
For a walk-through on how to connect your Solar Sound via Bluetooth, we suggest you read our Sharing your music is easy - here's how file on the Solar Sound page.
Can I use the Solar Sound FF and RR buttons with an iphone?
The buttons on the Solar Sound that Fast Forward and Rewind your music use the Bluetooth AVRCP profile. This profile is used by most Bluetooth phones, but unfortunately Apple does yet support the AVRCP profile, although they will hopefully support this soon. You can still control your music using your iphone.

What is the best way to charge the Solar Charger from the Sun?
To get the best results, leave the Solar Charger outside on a sunny day, angled at the sun. Also make sure the solar panel itself is clean, by wiping it with a damp cloth if it is dirty.
Will my Solar Charger charge under artificial light?
If you put the Solar Charger close to an artificial light source, you will see the blue LED light up and the charger will begin charging. However, most artificial light sources are much less powerful than proper sun light, to it will take a long time to charge the unit from a lamp or light bulb.
How long does it take to charge completely from solar?
We recommend between 24-36hours to charge the unit completely by solar
That seems like a long time?
There are a few reasons for this. Firstly, our battery size, at 1800mAh is about twice the size of our competitors, so correspondingly, it takes about twice the time to charge. Second, when we were researching the design of our solar charger, we looked into different sizes of solar panel to use. However, what we decided was that we wanted to make something that was truly portable and that people would actually carry around with them, as oppose to a much bigger and more expensive device that would be quicker at charging from its solar panels, but not easily portable. Over 98% of our customers are near either a wall outlet, a USB port or a car power socket every three days, so we see the product as primarily a back-up source of power for your cellphone or ipod, with the added extra of being able to use the solar when there is no other source of power available, as oppose to a dedicated solar device.
How long does it take to charge from USB?
About 8-12hours
That seems like a long time?
This is because our Engineer wanted to limit the amount of current going into the battery of the solar charger, so prolonging the batteries' life. The less current going into the Lithium-Ion batteries, the less distress that is caused to them, and the longer they will last.
How long will the charge last in the Solar Charger?
Once charged up, the Solar Charger should keep power for 3 months or more before it needs to be recharged again. Then just recharge the Solar Charger as necessary.
Power Brick
Instructions
The green light is blinking/not always turning on, is the battery still working? Yes, the battery works fine with or without the green LED. A small number of our first batch of products had a loose connector for the LED, which meant that sometimes it wont light up. This will not affect the operation of your Power Brick in any way.
Can I use other USB devices with my Power Brick?
Yes, the USB port on the Power Brick has been made to the USB 2.0 specifications, so It should work with all other USB devices.
My Power Brick is not working?
Make sure that the Power Brick is set to On, by turning the switch on the left hand side to Up.
Make sure the Power Brick is charged.
Sometimes the connectors can become a bit loose. Try taking out the connector to the phone and plugging it in again several times. Also, once the connector is in the phone/Ipod give the device several seconds to recognise the connector.
Check the voltage/current requirements of your device, and if they match the Power Brick.
I have a Sony Ericsson phone
When using the Sony Ericsson tip, make sure that you do not just pull out the tip from the phone. Instead, push down on the tip, and it will come out easily. If you try to pull out the tip without pushing down, you run the risk of breaking the connector.
For our Power Brick and High Capacity batteries, although these products work with many iPods, including the iPod Nano and shuffle 1st generation, 3/4/5th Generation iPods, iPod Video and the iPod mini, unfortunately they do not work with the second generation iPod Nano, Touch or the iPhone.
